Hi everyone(family and friends)! :)
Day 1
If anyone was worrying I in fact did make it to the MTC safely! It was sure the adventure from 3 am in Philly to 11 am in SLC. It was a long flight with a layover. I took a shuttle from the airport to the MTC. It was a nice ride down to Provo. I was remembering all the times I visited Thanh and Alex when they still lived up there.
Upon entering the MTC, my heart was racing. I didn't know really what to expect. As the driver pulled into the MTC, there was a large line of missionaries who were there to greet new missionaries as host. When we got to the main entrance to the main building the driver stopped the car and helped me with my luggage. I was then greeted by one of the hosts and was directed into the building to retrieve my name tag with an orange sticker on it(so everyone knows you're a new missionary and says "Welcome to the MTC!"), books, MTC ID, and room key. It all happened so fast. The host took me to my room to drop off my baggage and from there he took me to my first class.
I was the second Elder that arrived to the classroom. Elder Brace was there first. He was also going to the Georgia Atlanta Mission with me he was from somewhere in California. We also met our teachers Sister Hanshaw and Sister Ridge. The rest of our District came by the next hour. Our district only consisted of Elders: Elder Mende(my companion), Elder Stringham, Elder Johnson, Elder Foken, Elder Wallentine, and Elder Zuniga. We each took a MTC orientation quiz and watched videos about the rules of the mission and MTC. After our first class we went to another building for a welcoming for new missionaries by the MTC presidency.
Shortly
after the welcoming meeting, we went to dinner. I was so hungry by
then. The last time I ate was when I was on the plane. It was an
interesting experience to see all the missionaries in one place. I also
got to see two sisters from my ward at BYU! Sister Linda Nguyen(going to
Cambodia) and Sister Regan Curtis(going to Hong Kong).
That night we had the experience of teaching three investigators as a really large group of new missionaries. It was an interesting experience and lots of missionaries shared their testimonies and experiences, but it felt as though some of the investigators were being taught lessons instead of themselves being taught. Investigators are people too and it's important to treat them that way.
Day 2

Day 2
I
had the opportunity to share my testimony many times today and each
time I shared it I could feel my testimony grow stronger in Jesus
Christ. We were reminded of our purpose as missionaries. "Invite others
to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through
Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, Baptism, Receiving
the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end."(PMG) This purpose
has been taught many times over the past few days.
In
our classes, we were taught that our first convert is ourselves. We had
to be converted ourselves before we can convert others. True conversion
is no easy task and takes complete obedience and hard work.-Elder Nguyen
Sorry not enough time to write it all! Will finish it next P-day or not. More pictures later too!

And there he goes!! Bright and early to the MTC
